What is a FRENCHTON BULLDOG And WHY Was it Created?

Frenchtons were created several years ago when Frenchie breeders who loved their Frenchies, longed for a friend that could keep up with them. Something loyal, but highly intelligent. Something with energy to play and run, but not hyper. They wanted better health and better breathing, but something that STILL RESEMBLED a FRENCHIE. . . .
So they began creating this “impossible dream” by adding Boston Terrier blood in . . . JUST ENOUGH, 25%, to create something entirely new – the Frenchton Bulldog!
They had, in fact, created the PERFECT Frenchie!
This NEW BREED IN DEVELOPMENT should be 75% Frenchie and 25% Boston Terrier. 50/50 is NOT considered a TRUE FRENCHTON, but rather a Frenchton START since there is a hybrid group composed of 75% BOSTON TERRIER and 25% Frenchie called “FROSTONS”.
The original BREED STANDARD for Frenchton Bulldogs was set at 75% Frenchie, 25% Boston Terrier and this goal should be STRICTLY maintained by ANY true Frenchton Breeder. BEWARE OF FAD BREEDERS – those breeding not for the love of the breed but because it’s what’s “popular” right now.

Carl is 50/50 Frenchton and is a Tweed Harlequin Merle brindle color. He is built for speed!
Ginger Frenchton
BIRTHDAY: 01/2019
Ginger is a 75% Blue Brindle Frenchton. Ginger LOVES everyone, whether human or animal. She’s a doting Grandma and is the first to greet visitors!
Ampphroditie Frenchton
BIRTHDAY: 07/2020
Amphrodite (Dittie) is a 62% Tweed Harlequin Merle Brindle Colored Frenchton. She loves doing farm chores with Mom and keeping all the animals in line. She is the self-appointed guard dog. She does NOT like attention from strangers but will take treats!

“Louise” is a blue harlequin merle stud, 62% Frenchton we have set aside for one of Dittie’s future 82% babies. Louise is a son of Carl and Ginger and will help continue on their lineage. He is the ONLY off-site Frenchton we have, and lives with family.
